K is for Kill'd it

I'm sure everyone has heard Modest Mouse's "Float On". If not you might not like this as much as I did. But anyways this is the music video for Cities Aviv's "Float On" cover. The beat is actually by Blackbird Blackbird fyi.

J is for Jovial

Louis is so jovial. I mean even when he resorts to using Comcast dating onDemand he still seems enthusiastic and excited. I am a sucker for heartwarming stories. Hopefully the guy finds love soon (video circa 2006)!!

I is for WWI

"On the Other Side" is an absolutely fantastic WWI  short movie about a troop of French soldiers, who are trapped in a trench. The movie follows the one coward, one sniper, and one slightly unstable commander. Bravo Robin Veret!

Short Movie. "ON THE OTHER SIDE". Full version. from REZ CREATIVE LABS on Vimeo.

H is for Hot

Well you never really know if this girl is actually hot, but the way she drinks wine, puts on make-up, and snaps her buttons, hot-damn. This is the video for Karl X Johan's song Flames. Super artsy, tons of extreme close-ups.

G is for Grapes

Well not just grapes, but all kinds of foods. You probably haven't taken Japanese, but if you have, you will know that Kanji are the Japanese characters that are borrowed from the Chinese. The characters don't always mean words, but for food I guess it applies. Check out these creative takes on some food kanji (Including budo "grapes")!

F is for Faber-Manor

Faber-Manor is pencil company from Germany. They recently released a new ad campaign made by Service Plan Munich. My favorite is probably the Shark.

E is for Extreme

Ok so I know Redbull puts out a ton of extreme sports clip, and although cool, they can get a little repetitive. However, this video of Antoine Montant literally grinding on the ski-lift wires is pretty insane. It reminds me of when I'd play 007 Nightfire and we'd run along the gondola wires in multiplayer.

Nightfire ftw

D is for Drama

And the nominees for best picture are are... Tons of good movies came out this year! Maybe you saw some of them:

The Social Network

 Inception

 127 Hours

C is for Cockpit

Check out this cockpit view of a night time LAX landing. The uploader covers the details in the description... But skip to 1:00, that's when it gets cool.

B is for Bunny

Of course this is actually about Rabbits (which differ from Bunnies). If you were born in the year of the rabbit I'm guessing you're turning 13, 25, 37, or 49. No one older than that uses the internet I think. Here is a new spin on the zodiac animals, watch Year of the Rabbit.

39 Degrees North: 兔年 Year of the Rabbit from 39 Degrees North on Vimeo.

A is for Axe Cop

This is the first episode of the fan film Axe Cop. The video is based on the webcomic written by Malachai Nicolle, who happens to be 5-years old. If you want to read the original go to: http://axecop.com/.

Axe Cop: The Movie - Part 1 from Peter Muehlenberg on Vimeo.

RZA & MF Doom

OK so the lyrics may actually be: "Fifty thousand year process, to make this combination/ Ninety-nine elements, biochemical manifestation". But I always hear "...ninety-nine elephants, biochemical manifestation" and then I imagine the scene above. This is an older project by Doom and RZA but a new photoshop project for me. I gotta thank my friend Samme for showing me the track. Listen at 1:18 and see for yourself!

In Case You Missed It...

The latest Lonely Island song that premiered this weekend. Featuring the lyrical styling of Nicki Minaj. At first I was a little bored by the groups antics, but Nicki definitely kills it. And it gets wittier. "The Creep" will be on theLonelyIsland's upcoming album this spring, but is already available for purchase on iTunes.
I wonder if this will surpass the 45 million views "I Just Had Sex" got

Facebook Privacy!

I recently read an article about how to protect yourself from colleges and future employers while still maintaining a social facebook. The article blabbered about just being positive and mindful. I gave up reading. Robert Wayne offers a way to protect your information (note: he doen't offer a way to have more friends on facebook).

The Learning Channel

Do your parents or relatives watch TLC (The Learning Channel) very often? Mine do on occasion, but like what could be on that channel? What do they show? I mean, there are already Discovery, History, and countless news channels. There is HGTV for all your home/gardening needs. I'm guess it's kind of like a dumbed down OPB (Oregon Public Broadcasting) but if you'd like to know watch the following video.

"It's too big to be a space station"

Well you're right Han, these are actually planets. I'm pretty sure my generation isn't gonna make it to the next solar system. And I've always wondered what it would be like to have two suns or even other planets right next to Earth. This video helps you imagine what that would be like. Awesome work Brad Goodspeed. Full screen for sure.

Get Dunk'd

Remember in Space Jam when the Monstars scrunch Michael Jordan into a ball and dunk him? Well this is kind of like that, cept no scrunching. I'm not sure if this guy meant to do it, but it worked out haha. Check out this clip of Suns half time entertainment.

End Petlessness

That's what my local Humane Society uses as its slogan. But F that, Winnipeg knows how to sell cats. Check out this retro-ad, possibly modern for Winnipeg (jk) for the humane society of Winnipeg. I wonder if they have demon cats....

Awesome Snow Lizard

Well it's not a cool lizard that lives in the snow. Lizards are cold blooooooded - Rick James. But this is a pretty cool snow beast. It's Snowzilla. Hide yo japanese kids hide yo japanese wives and hid yo japanese husbands. In my fair city they didn't have snow this year, but even if they did I don't think I could've made a Snowzilla.

The End of the Age of Men (Gorillas!)

As Elrond told Aragorn "The age of men is coming to an end" (or something like that) in Lord of the Rings. This video is rather self explanatory. Look out mankind, your days are numbered. I remember reading somewhere that our ability to stand upright was one of the few evolutionary developments that ensured species dominance. But that might be made up.

John Oliver Prelude

Perhaps you have a recently released BBC dvd, in which case you have seen this already. But I have yet to buy a BBC DVD in the past six months. So I have not heard John Oliver's comical prelude. Oliver as many know him from the Daily Show, recites a comical shpeel.

Robot Endhiran

No not Ewan Mcgregor's memorable animated film. Think more like I-Robot with a musical Indian twist. Plus giant animated snakes and lots of guns. My favorite moments from the trailer are when people seemingly multiply and or guns do. Anyways, if you haven't seen, the internet is buzzing with reviews for Bollywood's most expensive movie ever. According to wikipedia the budget was 186 crores and the film has grossed 375 crores (I don't know what crores are...). The lead male actor Rajinikanth (an actor in over 150 films ) is accompanied by the beautiful Aishwarya Rai. Despite it's hollywood blockbuster look, the film was praised in India by many critics. Here is the trailer:

You can watch a ton of the epic parts

Rahman Noodles

Of course Ramen noodles are actually from Japan, but I guess the pun still applies for Indian things? I'm not really sure where the line is. Here's a math equation for you from Professor Rajstar: What do you get when you combine...
Kanye West

and

Indian music (Not song used)?

Mind Blown: Ricky Gervais Cameo US Office

With all the news swirling around Steve Carell's imminent departure, which seems to be accelerating towards goodbye. Not to mention the shows recent slowness and heavy reliance on worn down characters and useless drama. But there was some hope today as British Michael (David Brent) bumped into American Michael. Adorable interaction between a man and himself.

Ep 714: Michael's New Friend

Komforte Chocolate's Every Flavored Chocolates!

Well not quite that. Komforte Chocolate decided they were fed up with "upscale"pretentious chocolates, so they made chocolates for the more... relaxed chocolateer. My mother would be appalled. And on a side note, I eat Ramen literally everyday. 10:00 - 10:30 is the ideal time to make a pot. So i'm excited for Ramen  Noodle flavor.

P.S. Coincidentally I can smell french toast being made in the kitchen!

I Don't Watch Dexter

DEE DEE. No not that Dexter. I'm talking about the crazy cool Dexter that everyone says is really cool and exciting but never tells me what it's actually about. I'm sure it's a great show, but honestly I just don't have time. Anyways, here is a 60 second summation, perhaps someone can tell me if this is accurate?

Fact vs. Fiction: Hail

If you watch as much TV as I do you might have seen the ad for 21st Century auto-insurance, in which golf rain down on two cars to simulate hail. Well Youtube user "diagonaluk" (which to me says Diagon Alley UK) has uploaded a video of some "amateur storm-chasers"driving through a hail storm. The windshield and the roof get pretty beat up. Also the people in the car are yelling crazy things, like a woman yells "Ow" like all the time.

Portlandia Round 2

Hey I live there... Well that show about Portland is back. I have to say I was kind of disappointed in the first episode. There were moments of humor, but at the same time I felt the show dragged skits along. I think there is a future and my disappointment possibly stemmed from my anticipation. Anyways, here is a preview for next tomorrow's episode! It's witty, but "I did not like the end of it".

A Jay-Z and Will Smith Annie

That's right, two of America's most prominent rappers/actors are going to be making a reproduction of the film classic Annie. As one who enjoyed the Karate Kid reboot, I am looking forward to the Annie film. It will of course star Will Smith's up and coming daughter Willow as the lead. Hopefully the movie will be something like this...

"'Whip My Hair' means don't be afraid of yourself and don't let anybody tell you that's wrong. Because the best  thing is you" - Willow

Balls to You - Fliesaminelli

Annoyingly I now say this. But perhaps if you don't know why, this is why. Here we have an interview with Liza Minnelli, where she must have said "the phrase" in passing. Probably not as intended. Fliesaminnelli is the name of Mitch's childhood pet bird in Modern Family.

The Empire Farts Back

Call me five years old, but I laughed at this video. It may be baby humor, but it's very... ripe? The video's creator OneMinuteGalactica admits his own immaturity, but I think we should not disregard his wit. Well maybe not wit, but his donation to society. Enjoy The Empire Farts Back.

Amazing Humans (Aquatics and Thievery)

Here are two men that I don't think I will ever be able to top in their perspective fields. Even if I spend the rest of my life practicing. The first is Sulbin (Haha) the Bajau (Philippines) Fisherman. If you want a real challenge, hold your breath as long as he does. In the video he dives 20 meters and holds his breath for what seems like ages, all for one fish. The second man is Swiss thief Bob Arno. The man is a pickpocket "magician". He does everything, from watches and pens to clothes. His act only builds.

Pixar's Up! (1965)

Premakes is at it again. Already a bevy of "premake" trailers under their belt, the latest Pixar premake is a great one. If you ever wanted to know what a 60's version of the movie Up would be like, now you know. The editors combined over 10 old films to make this charming parody.

Half Life Fan Films

Just out is "Beyond Black Mesa". With only a measly $1200 Brian Curtin directed this exciting indie Half Life spin off. It's very well done for what they did. At times the movie is clearly amateur, but the 2-year effort is no let down. Personally I prefer the two year old film "Escape from City 17". Directed by the Purchase Brothers, "Escape from City 17" is more linear and the action is more concretely constructed. I suggest watching both.

Japanese Kids

Are adorable!!! But in general, Japanese people are quite hilarious. When I was in Japan last summer, there were actually people like the kids in these commercials. First is the new "Happy Set" from McDonalds, which features talking Spongebob cups and straws. Second is Giga Pudding an old classic. Third is an adult Japanese woman, but she adorably explains Titanic.

So Frustrating

You know when your friend (possibly older) is trying to show you something online and they move so, so, so slow. You just want to do it for them. Often I find when I'm trying to show someone something on the internet my computer (named Kevin) decides to go even slower. But this animation titled "The Scrollwheel" describes a pain we all know. Good work Guy Collins.

Tom Hanks' Rapper Son

I really want to go to Northwestern University. Sure they may have a top notch school of communications, but more importantly they have Chet Haze (Chet Hanks). He is actually Tom Hanks' son. I think we can all agree, Chet's half brother Collin is doing much better work. The young MC released his anthem for Northwestern "White and Purple" a few days ago. The song is kind of... meh. It's just alright. You decide.

4-Year Old Smokes Pot

Sean is four years old and he lives in the 1960's. He has lots of opinions. He doesn't like police, he hates speed freaks, and he likes weed. Times were different, I'll have to ask my father about this. Anyways, I thought this video was great. Just wait till his dream about icecream, Sean is so worldly. The producer is Ralph Arlyck.
Also, there is a follow up documentary called "Following Sean". It was released in 2006, it was nominated for best documentary Gotham Awards.

Learn To Do Things Fast

This video is awesome. I learned more from it than I did from school today. But basically it teaches you how to do things quickly. Important things like: ketchup pouring, shoelace tying, t-shirt folding, egg shelling. Actually lots of cool stuff. Check it out.
P.S. taking your shirt off.

I'm the Guy on the Right

This is old but it's a classic "pawz" video made on Xtranormal.com. Go make your own. Good times cause it reminds me of my friend Nik. Basically I am the one on the right...I'm not sure what kind of animal they are, but I know I am an Internet Hipster.
